Grid Middleware

GRACE adopts the grid middleware developed by LHC Computing Grid (LCG).
LCG is a grid deployment project for High Energy Physics applications needed by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a huge particle accelerator that will be operational by 2007. LCG is using the middleware released by European DataGrid project and is working in close collaboration with middleware developers. | |||||||||
Test Bed Infrastructure
GRACE test bed is located in two sites, Telecom Italia Lab (Torino - IT) and GL2006 (Seregno - IT)
GRACE test bed is composed of:
- Grid Elements: Computing Elements, Worker Nodes, Storage Elements, User Interface installed in each test site
- General Services: The centralised services (Resource Broker, Information Index, Replica Location Service, Logging and Bookkeping, Virtual Organization Server), which are common to several grid sites.
GRACE Test Bed benefits of the General Services provided by GILDA (the EGEE dissemination Grid infrastructure) and on the GILDA Virtual Organization, gathering all people wanting to experience grid computing on the GILDA Testbed.

Monitoring system
GILDA provides a versatile monitoring system completely based on GridICE, a tool developed by INFN.
GridICE provides real time monitoring of the various sites/elements composing GILDA's infrastructure, as well as monitoring the status of GRACE TILAB and GL2006 grid sites.
